Lost Desert

2022

This is the first Miniature Assembly I created, the starting point of this journey of exploring novel techniques and formal aesthetics. It didn’t unfold as a meticulously planned experiment. Rather, it evolved organically, a nightly exploration after work, where I’d play with ideas and let the accumulated concepts guide me.

The initial vision of this miniature was a blurred panorama — imagining a desert with hints of tropical elements and scatted architectural ruins. It exemplifies my approach of letting imagination take the reins.

The series of cartoonish miniature assemblies serve as a canvas to push the boundaries of playfulness and its transformative impact on our reality. Importantly, each assembly comes to life through animation, transcending static still life to reveal a world where genuine wonders are constructed, and imaginary creatures inhabit, forming a parallel universe of tangible marvels.
