Plants capture and deliver energy in a highly efficient way because of their intellectual structural and mechanical systems. Current environmental buildings, however, mostly depend on machines instead of the form itself to save energy.
In this project, we are looking for the possibility of architecture to operate a similar system and principles of capturing and recycling the energy as plants. In comparison, we find that the processes of energy recycling in the current architecture are inadequate or partly missing. Solar panels and HVAC equipment is not the best way to capture and transfer energy. Therefore, by studying the inner mechanism of vegetation, this project intends to create a logical architectural form. The proposed geometry is a combination of porosities, layers, and channels. This calibrated composition will be able to keep the energy flowing and cycling from inside of the building to the outside urban environment autonomously, making architecture itself become a “Thermodynamic Machine”.
